One answer to global warming

I hope to do a sculpture of this Fell Pony in time for the Christmas exhibition in London. This is one of the most “more-ish” sports I know. More pictures to come soon.

what a beautiful pony. It looks so picturesque

There use to be a shetlan(sp?) pony in our neighborhood, and he was so mean you couldn’t hardly get close to it!

    This type pony looks wonderful.

Hope all is well, the leaves got killed by frost on our trees on a late frost so it looks a lot like fall here.

    Hi Susangalique

Yes Shetlands can be grumpy and dangerous at both ends, but ours just looks grumpy in reality he is very sweet, rather old now but waits for me everyday in case I have something to eat! He walks round the Dining room table on special occasions after dinner and would live inside if he could. He is an expert escape artist and knows how to get out of just about anything. He had two faults as a young chap, avoided capture before “work” if he could and disliked tractors. Otherwise he carried children, my baggage on camp and even pulled a little vehicle like the one here. If you go to the label “friends” you will see him trying to get in the bucket in January! The spotted pony is an American breed who thought that circus life was beneath her. She is very sweet too but doesn’t suffer fools gladly so if you haven’t anything to eat she tends not hang about to past the day!
We too are worried about frost and lack of rain. The trees are coming out very early this year. Good luck with the exams.

PS The Shetland Islands are off the North of Scotland by the Orkney Islands. Tough place to live, need a good coat. The Fell pony comes from the Lake District I think.

Very picturesque indeed but perhaps not the best solution for global warming. Pres. Bush has been putting out horse shit for years and it certainly hasn’t helped any! 😉

    Hi Robert–

Trala, I’m home again (though about to go off on a brief trip), and there are flowers…

I’m glad to see you jousting with Chris again. That is always enlightening!
