It was something about going to look at that poor little pebble… I saw the breasts but had a hard time making out the so-called headdress or piled hair.
This could be an indication that not Adam, but Eve was the first man. On the other hand, God moulded Adam from clay, so he was gifted with the art of sculpturing and his favorite model was of course Eve. I would never have called these figures “Venuses” but “Eves”. Or, maybe he was frustrated that he couldn’t give birth to new men, so he had to do it with clay, after all God used it, too, only Adam didn’t manage to turn it into flesh, Eve and God could.
